Power over Ethernet now available for up to 200W

Silvertel, as part of the HDbaseT consortium, are working towards a standard that will enable uncompressed HD video, sound and power to be sent over Ethernet.

This will give the opportunity, to all the leading TV manufacturers, of producing Single Wire TV. This frees the user to mount the TV anywhere, as there is no need for a mains socket. This is ideal for the home, where wall mounted TVs are very desirable. In the business environment where screens are used for advertising or information broadcasts; the added advantage of being able to broadcast form a single source to many screens is as important as the ability to place the screen anywhere without worrying about the cost of moving or installing mains power wiring.

High power PoE is not just aimed at TV or even just HDbaseT this technology can be used for PCs, door access systems, large cameras and much more…..
